(CLOVER, SC) April 16, 2013 - Bubba Pollard won the very first Super Southern Series Race in Nashville, TN and C.E. Falk stole the win at the Pomoco Auto Group Night Season Opener in Virginia. Both the #26 and #40 were equipped with PFC Brakes.

History was made at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville when Bubba Pollard won the very first Southern Super Series race.  Pollard clenched his first career win at Nashville in his #26 racecar, equipped with a full PFC Brake Package.

The Southern Super Series consists of a 16-race slate at five different racetracks in four different states—bringing in some of the best Super Late Model Racers in the country. The tracks include Alabama’s Mobile International Speedway, Montgomery Motor Speedway, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway, Georgia’s Gresham Motorsports Park, and Tennessee’s Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.

“Winning here at Nashville is a cool thing to have on your resume,” said Pollard. Taking the lead at the green flag, Pollard lead 105 laps of the 125-lap race. Driver Daniel Hemic led from lap 75 to lap 95, where Pollard then re-claimed the first place position, taking him into victory lane.

“You hope to have a car this good at all the races,” said Pollard. “I couldn’t have asked for a better-driving racecar tonight.” Equipped with a full PFC Short Track Brake Package, Pollard and his unstoppable racecar pulled through a historical victory—the very first Southern Super Series race.

C.E. Falk’s #40 Late Model Stock car, equipped with PFC Brakes, took the win at the Pomoco Auto Group Night 2013 Season Opener in Hampton, Virginia.  The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series brings together some of the best Late Model Stock Car Racers in the country—with Falk leading the pack at Langley Speedway.

On lap 53, C.E. Falk grabbed the second place spot, quickly gaining on the leader in the #77 car, Nick Smith. In turn 2, Falk made his move underneath Smith, gaining the first place position. On lap 125 the last caution came out with Falk still in the lead. With only 16 laps to go, Falk lead the breakaway at the head of the field, and scored the win at Langley Speedway.

(CLOVER, SC) February, 26 2013 – Josh Richards and Tim Mcreadie took wins in the World of Outlaws (WoO) and UMP DIRTcar series with PFC Brakes during the week of the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals.

Josh Richards clenched his 40^th WoO victory, sporting PFC pads and discs, at the three-eight mile oval Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA in the Winter Freeze doubleheader weekend. Richards took the win in the WoO race at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL on February 17^th.

Richards also won in the UMP DIRTcar races on the half-mile oval dirt track at Volusia County Raceway on February 18^th and 19^th.

To finalize Richards’ race week, he claimed the title of WoO Volusia County Raceway Champion.

Tim Mcreadie, racing PFC pads and discs, won the 40-lap DIRTcar UMP Super Late Model A-Main at Volusia Speedway Park on February 20^th—home of McCreadie’s first Late Model win in 2004.

PFC Brakes swept the short track Speedfest weekend at Watermelon Capital Speedway—race teams equipped with PFC brakes winning the JEGS/CRA All-Stars 100, and the ARCA/CRA Super Series Speedfest 200.

The 2013 ARCA/CRA Speedfest at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia starts off the short track racing season and features some of the best Pro Latemodel and Super Latemodel drivers in the Country.

Sunday, the 100-lap JEGS/CRA Pro Late Model race was won by Chase Elliott—hosting a full PFC Late Model Brake Package (calipers, pads, and discs). The race marked Elliott's third straight JEGS/CRA Speedfest victory.
 

The second race was the 200-lap ARCA/CRA Super Late Model Race. Travis Sauter, sporting PFC discs and pads, lead the first 125 laps. Sauter was caught up in traffic and received damage which then turned the top three positions over to Chase Elliott, David Ragan, and Jeff Choquette—all using the full PFC Brake Package (calipers, pads, and discs). The 200 lap race lasted nearly four hours due to heavy cautions. To end the race, Choquette took the win across the finish line with his PFC Brake Package—having PFC Brakes sweep the Speedfest weekend.

Other short track drivers using PFC brakes include David Ragan, Travis Sauter, Brandon Oakley, David Hodges, and Korey Ruble.

PFC Brakes had a weekend of wins in the top sports car endurance events to start out the new 2013 year—the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, and the BMW Performance 200.  

The 01 Ganassi Daytona Prototype scored the overall win running the full PFC Brake Package (calipers, pads, and discs), giving PFC’s NEW 12 Compound a win in its debut race. Drivers include Memo Rojas, Scott Pruett, Charlie Kimball, and Juan Pablo Montoya who drove the final hours through the checkered flag.

The Rolex 24 is one of the largest race events to start out the year in the United States. The 24-hour sports car endurance race is run on a 3.56 mile combined road course, using both the infield road course, as well as the NASCAR tri-oval. The first, second, and third place qualifiers in the Daytona Prototype class were also equipped with PFC’s new 12 Compound brake pads.

The Ganassi BMW car lead 421 of 709 laps, and put a large gap between the rest of the pack until a series of cautions came up near the end of the race. The straightaway gave the 01 car the ability to get ahead again—having a 21.92 second lead across the finish line ahead of the second place runner. The BMW Performance 200 season-opening race ran on Friday at Daytona International Speedway as a prelude to the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The Roush Performance team won the BMW Performance 200 race on Friday. The No. 61 Roush Mustang, equipped with PFC pads. Jack Roush Jr. and Billy Johnson shared the driver’s seat of in a tight race of back-and-forth passing and drafting. Johnson crossed the finish line 1.81 seconds ahead of the second place runner.

for the Porsche and Endurance Racing World on rennlist.com . A debate over PFC and Pagid pads had an obvious winner—PFC.

"PFC > Pagid," wrote a forum member.

Endurance and short track drivers discussed the differences in driveability, pad life, and brake fade between the PFC 08 and the Pagid RS29.

The PFC 08 compound is one of PFC's newest compounds and has gained immediate favor in Endurance Sportscar and GT racing due to its performance in applications where smooth initial bite is a must.

"PFC control and release are better in my mind than the Pagid," said Seth Thomas—a professional driver and coach for Bimmerworld. "PFC 08's have great initial bite, but not harsh enough to trigger the ABS. The release is a nice, smooth release. This is the same on the pad from day one to the end of the product."

The compound has a slight friction rise with temperature, excellent release and modulation, and very low disc wear. The 08 wears the longest of all current PFC pads and easily matches wear of the other competitors with much higher bite.

(Clover, SC) October 19, 2012- Barry Wright Race Cars' (BWRC) and Steve Francis won the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals in the #15 car equipped with PFC discs and pads.



Barry Wright Race Cars' team and Steve Francis claimed the win at the Lucas Oil Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, IA on September 29th. The #15 car—BWRC's house car—was equipped with PFC's discs and brake pads. The thirty-three car field presented strong contenders such as Scott Bloomquist and Jimmy Owens—the two front row starters.

On lap 71, Francis took hold of the lead spot on the half-mile oval track with a pass in turn four. Francis quickly made a large gap between him and the now 2nd place runner, Brady Smith.

"This is probably the biggest one of my career," said Francis in victory lane.

(Clover, SC) October 11, 2012- Driver D.J. Shaw finished 3rd in the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway this past Saturday. Shaw's Super Late Model JLM Toyota was ready and equipped with Performance Friction ZERO DRAG^™ ZR34 calipers and ZRated® discs.

The 18 degree banked, half-mile track challenged drivers to perform their best in the 28th running of the AA 400. Shaw's #60 car and Performance Friction ZERO DRAG^TM ZR34 calipers and ZRated® discs proved to overcome the challenge with high durability, a firm pedal, and increased stopping power.

D.J. Shaw races for the North Pro All Star Series (PASS) and is currently 4th in the PASS North series, and 6th in PASS National standings.

With the consistent threat of rain, the race became a question of pit strategy. Shaw made a risky decision and pitted 30 laps ahead of the leaders—later proving to be a wise choice.

Five laps short of the halfway point, Preston Peltier's #26 car spit out tire debree and a "caution-green" flag came out in attempt to keep the track dry. On the restart 207 lap, Shaw stayed in the lead pack when rain covered the Fairgrounds Speedway. Race officials called the 28th All American 400 on lap 220 with D.J. Shaw and PFC brakes finishing 3rd.

Shaw is currently 4th in the PASS North series, and 6th in PASS National standings. With the PASS North season finale at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine on October 14th, Shaw is hopeful to finish up the season with a win.

The Speed Channel recently aired a rare look inside Performance Friction’s manufacturing plant in Clover, SC as a part of the NASCAR Performance Show.

On the show, veteran crew chief, Larry McReynolds, is given a tour of the manufacturing facility by Don Burgoon, President of PFC. Viewers are shown a basic overview of the process that goes into making every Carbon Metallic® Race Pad and Street Pad. After the pad process, the guys head to the rotor area where castings are turned into championship winning race discs using the most advance machining equipment in the world. Next, they make a stop at the dyno testing facility and then top off the tour with a look at the latest brake cooling systems for motorsports.
